Jalandhar, March 17 -- Three schools in the city received threatening emails, which turned out to be hoaxes, on Monday. An unknown sender demanded that all statues of Dr BR Ambedkar be removed by April 14, failing which he threatened to destroy them. Police said since the board examinations are on, the anti-sabotage teams were immediately deployed in the schools. Jayanti Puri, additional deputy commissioner of police (ADCP) (investigation), said they had thoroughly conducted checking on the premises of the schools. "Our technical teams were also examining the email. All emails have turned out to be hoaxes," he said. Meanwhile, the police control room (PCR) teams carried out continuous monitoring in the areas where the statues of Dr Ambedkar are installed....
