New Delhi, Oct. 24 -- Three New Delhi-based firms providing a range of services for the aviation industry were among 45 entities sanctioned by the European Union (EU) on Thursday for allegedly supporting Russia's military and industrial complex. The action was part of the 19th package of sanctions adopted by the EU to target key sectors that fuel Russia's invasion of Ukraine, including energy, finance and the military industrial complex. There was no immediate response from Indian officials to the development. The European Council, which defines the political direction and priorities of the EU, identified 45 entities that it said were "directly supporting Russia's military and industrial complex by.enabling the circumvention of export restrictions on computer numerical control machine tools, microelectronics, unmanned aerial vehicles and other technology items". These entities, including the three Indian firms, will be subject to "tighter export restrictions with regard to dual-use goods, as well as items which might contribute to the technological enhancement of Russia's defence sector", EU said....
