Rohtak, Dec. 26 -- Three persons were burnt alive after a speeding truck hit their Hyundai Creta car from behind near Jat Guwana village in Mahendergarh district on the 152-D national highway in the early hours of Thursday, said police The deceased have been identified as former zila parishad member Raj Kumar, 47, cloth trader Ravi Dutt, 47 and taxi driver Praveen Dutt, 45. The victims belong to Neerpur village in Mahendergarh district. A spokesman of Mahendergarh police said that the incident occurred around 2.40 am in the morning near Jat Guwana village in the district when a speeding truck hit the Creta car from behind and due to collision, the car caught fire. "Three car-occupants burnt alive on the spot and some passerby informed the police. The truck driver managed to flee from the spot. The victims were coming back to their village from Chandigarh. All the victims were friends and belonged to same village. A case of rash driving and causing death due to negligence was registered against the accused driver, who is absconding. The truck has been seized and efforts are on to nab the driver," the spokesman added....
