3 B'deshi men not lynched: India rejects dhaka's claims
New Delhi, Oct. 18 -- India on Friday said three Bangladeshi smugglers who crossed the border and attempted to steal cattle died during an altercation, rejecting Dhaka's assertion that the men were lynched by a mob in the northeastern state of Tripura.
According to external affairs ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, the deaths occurred about three kilometres inside Indian territory on October 15. "Their bodies have been handed over to the Bangladesh side. Police have also registered a case," the spokesperson further said. It underscored the need for Bangladesh to "undertake necessary measures to uphold the sanctity of the boundary", Jaiswal said....
