3 arrested with heroin, weapons in Muktsar
Muktsar, June 9 -- The Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Punjab, in a joint operation with Muktsar police, arrested three criminals and seized illegal arms and narcotics from their possession, director general of police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav said on Sunday. Those arrested have been identified as Gaurav Kumar alias Billa, Vikasdeep Singh, and Lovepreet Singh, all residents of Muktsar. Two .32 bore pistols, 10 live cartridges and 174-gm heroin have been seized.
Facing multiple cases, the accused were plotting to eliminate a rival in Punjab, the DGP said. ADGP AGTF Promod Ban said they were examining a polythene bag contaning firearm and heroin under a flyover bridge when they were caught. "An FIR under Section 21(b) of the NDPS Act, and Sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act has been registered at Malout city police station," he added.
The Amritsar Rural police arrested Gurditta alias Kalu and Captain near Bhakna village and seized 6kg heroin, the DGP said. The heroin was sent by Pakistan-based handlers, he said, adding that a case under the NDPS Act has been registered at Gharinda police station....
