3 ARRESTED in UTTARAKHAND for possession of drugs
Rudrapur, June 15 -- Police have arrested a man and two women for smuggling illicit drugs in Nanakmatta are of US Nagar on Friday evening.
Police recovered 50 gm heroin from them. The couple allegedly travelled with their five-year-old daughter to avoid the suspicion of police while transporting the drugs, said police
US Nagar senior superintendent of police, Manikant Mishra said, "Police halted a car on suspicion of drugs in Nagla village under Nanakmatta police station. Police saw a minor girl in the car, they hesitated in the beginning, but checked the car and recovered heroin from the car riders' possession."
Nanakmatta police were on routine checking in Naglavillage.
On suspicion police personnel halted a car and a man, two women and a minor were travelling in the car. In the beginning, they hesitated to check the car due to a minor but checked the car and recovered the contraband.
The offenders have been identified as Gobinder Singh, Rajwinder Kaur and Vimla Kaur, all residents of Nagla village.
Gobinder Singh and Rajwinder Kaur are married and travelled with their minor daughter to dodge the police.
Mishra said, "Govinder revealed that they used to keep minor daughter to dodge the police. They thought after seeing the minor police will not check the car."
The offenders revealed the names of local smugglers and peddlers during interrogation....
