24-year-old woman shot dead in Tarn Taran village
Tarn Taran, Dec. 21 -- A 24-year-old woman was shot dead by two unidentified assailants while she was waiting for an auto-rickshaw in Rasulpur village of Tarn Taran on Saturday.
The victim was identified as Navroop Kaur, a resident of Banwalipur village, who had started working at a salon in Tarn Taran just a few days ago. Her father, Mangal Singh, said his daughter had boarded a bus from Tarn Taran and got off at Rasulpur around 5pm, from where she was to take an auto for home.
While she was waiting there, two men arrived and shot her in the head. The complainant said his daughter was rushed to the Guru Nanak Dev Super Speciality Hospital in a critical condition and later rushed to the Tarn Taran civil hospital but she succumbed to her injuries.
After being informed, DSP (D) Jagjit Singh, DSP Goindwal Sahib Atul Soni, SHO Sadar Gurcharan Singh, along with other police officials, reached the spot and started investigation. A case of murder was registered against the unidentified assailants....
