2 minor sisters headed to school run over by Punjab Roadways bus
Bathinda, Oct. 19 -- Two school-going sisters were crushed to death while their father and brother sustained serious injuries after a speeding Punjab Roadways bus hit their scooter near Jhunir town in Mansa on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Sonu, 12, and Meena Kaur, 7.
According to the information, Binder Ram was taking his children to their school when the bus hit them from behind.
Police officials said the bus ran over the children as they fell on the road, killing them on the spot. Binder and his son Jassi, 6, also suffered multiple injuries. They were rushed to a subdivision government hospital in Sardulgarh.
Investigating officer Avtar Singh said bus driver Ranjit Singh and the bus were taken into custody.
He said further action will be taken after recording statements of the aggrieved family.HTC...
