Gurdaspur, Jan. 24 -- The local police arrested two men after recovering two pistols, two magazines and six live cartridges from their possession, said SSP Aditya on Friday. According to the SSP, a police party from Kahnuwan police station, along with CIA staff Gurdaspur, was on routine patrol when a youth identified as Sahil, alias Bhakku, a resident of Kahnuwan, was stopped on suspicion. During checking, police recovered a .32-bore pistol, along with a magazine and four live cartridges, from his possession. Following the recovery, an FIR was lodged under Sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act at the Kahnuwan police station. During interrogation, the accused disclosed that he had procured the pistol from one Ajay Kumar, also a resident of Kahnuwan. Acting swiftly on this disclosure, police arrested Ajay and recovered another .32-bore pistol, along with a magazine and two live cartridges, from him. Police officials stated both accused will be produced before the court for police custody.
