Mohali, July 11 -- A 17-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by a man in a hotel who lured her into a relationship under false promise of marriage. The girl later discovered that the man was already married and had children. As per the complaint filed by the victim, the man was in contact with her for 3 years and repeatedly assured her that he would marry her and took her to a hotel and pressurised her to build a sexual relationship. The victim refused following which the man assaulted and raped her. The accused owns a medical store in Kurali. A case has been registered under Section 64 (punishment for rape) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
