Jaipur, May 5 -- A 17-year-old student preparing for the National Entrance Eligibility Test -Undergraduate, or NEET-UG, for admission to medical courses was found dead in her room in Kota district of Rajasthan, police said on Sunday, suspecting it to be a case of suicide, making it the 15th such incident in the coaching hub this year. Last year, 20 students preparing for various competitive examinations died by suicide in the district. Senior police officer Arvind Bharadwaj said that the incident took place on Saturday, a day before the girl was set to write the National Entrance Eligibility Test -Undergraduate. "The victim was preparing for NEET at a prominent coaching centre in the city. She was all set to take the exam on Sunday," the station house officer (SHO) said. The deceased lived with her parents and brothers in Kota. The incident came to light at around 10pm when the student's father found her body in her room. "The girl's father went upstairs to check on her in her room where he saw her body," station house officer (SHO) Bharadwaj said. Police officers said they did not recover any suicide note from her room. They added that they have launched an investigation to ascertain the reasons behind the suicide, and that they are talking to the victim's parents and authorities at the coaching centre....
