BATHINDA, Aug. 18 -- Police have arrested a man and his accomplice for allegedly killing the 17-year-old son of his live-in partner in a case linked to a land fraud. The boy was found dead in a canal near Teona village on August 15, police said. According to police, Gurdeep Singh, along with his accomplice Amin Sharma, killed the boy after accusing him of concealing the sale of a 9-kanal land and committing fraud. The murder, they said, was a planned act to shift the blame onto the estranged family of Gurdeep's partner. SP (Investigation) Jasmeet Singh Sahiwal said on Sunday that Gurdeep had sold land belonging to his relatives and once the fraud came to light, he allegedly conspired to mislead investigators by framing his partner's family. "Investigations revealed that Gurdeep and Amin strangled the boy to death on August 14 and later dumped the body in the canal. They were already known to be involved in previous cases of theft and trespassing," the SP said. htc...
