Srinagar, Oct. 19 -- A silent protest march announced by the Leh Apex Body (LAB) and the Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) in Leh was called off on Saturday after the Ladakh administration reintroduced restrictions in the region and placed LAB co-chairman Chering Dorjay and other leaders under house arrest, people familiar with the matter said. The two organisations on Friday announced a two-hour silent march and a three-hour blackout across Ladakh as part of their agitation for statehood and Sixth Schedule status for the Union territory.
