Chandigarh, March 1 -- The stage has been set for the 1st Chandigarh International Marathon, scheduled to be held on Sunday, with Punjab governor and UT administrator Gulab Chand Kataria receiving the official marathon T-shirt from the Chandigarh department of sports at Punjab Lok Bhavan on Saturday. More than 3,500 runners, including 38 international athletes, are expected to participate in the event that would begin at 7 am from Chandigarh Club, Sector 1. Kataria, along with his wife Anita Kataria, will participate in the 5-km marathon event, themed "Run, Rise, Repeat", encouraging citizens to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle. The marathon will feature four categories - full marathon (42.195 km), half marathon (21.09 km), 10-km timed run and 5-km run - involving Rs.1,00,16,000 as the total prize pool. A total of 138 winners will be awarded across various categories. The Coca-Cola Company is sponsoring Rs.25 lakh for the event....
