'Pahalgam link': woman conned of Rs.43L
Noida, Sept. 3 -- A retired corporate employee from Noida's Sector 41 lost Rs.43.70 lakh to cybercriminals after being kept under "digital arrest" for 26 days, police said on Tuesday. The woman received a landline call on July 18 from a fraudster posing as a telecom executive, falsely linking her to the Pahalgam terror attack. She was told her bank accounts were being used for Hawala and terror funding. Fearing legal action, she transferred Rs.43.70 lakh via RTGS as a "security deposit."htc...
