Panchkula, Feb. 14 -- A week after an unidentified man was booked for allegedly making an extortion call to a Panchkula builder, the case has now been transferred to the crime branch team of Panchkula police for further investigation.

On February 4, Devdutt Verma, a resident of Sector 20 Panchkula and a builder, received several calls on WhatsApp asking him to pay up Rs.60 lakh or face dire consequences. Devdutt was on his way to a construction site in Phase 2, Mohali, when the incident took place.
