Rohtak, July 23 -- As the 18th Lok Sabha completes its first year, here's a look at third-time BJP MP Dharambir Singh's performance in the lower house of the Parliament and plan for the next four years . Singh, a Jat leader shifted to the BJP from Congress ahead of the 2014 General polls and he has been undefeatable in the last three polls. I am a third-time Member of Parliament and since 2014, I have been working round the clock to bring new projects in my constituency. The majority of people in my constituency reside in villages and our primary focus is to ensure access to safe drinking water and adequate water for irrigation. I want farmers of my area to get Rs 10,000 per quintal for their mustard crop, Rs 5,000 per quintal for bajra and good prices for pulses.I want to bring industries here so that youth can get jobs. My entire constituency has been connected with the best road infrastructure. In politics there is no high point for personal growth. I am satisfied that voters of my constituency elected a BJP nominee for the third time despite unrest in rural areas following farmers' protest. While for the party, passing bills like 'One Nation, One Election', Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act and Waqf (Amendment) Act is an achievement. The Prime Minister got the mandate for the third straight term and his foreign policy was much appreciated. I am satisfied with the number of sittings in the Lok Sabha but the Opposition should cooperate with the government instead of walking out every time. MPs should prioritise constructive debate and representation of their constituents' concerns within the parliamentary proceedings, rather than resorting to boycotts. The MPs need to bring more maturity and clarity towards the issues and they need to be accountable towards the voters. There are several effective ways like Zero Hour, Question Hour, Rule 377, general discussion on the President's address, discussion on budget, and private member bills for raising the voice of people of your constituency. I always try to use all these ways effectively to raise the voice of constituents. In the last 11 years, I participated in several debates, and asked starred and unstarred questions of public importance. Outside the House, I reviewed works and schemes in the District Development, Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meetings. The road infrastructure has improved in my constituency. I provided tractor-trailers and machines in almost every town and village so that garbage and waste can be dumped at the dumping ground. Water tankers have been provided in villages facing water shortage. During the Congress regime, people from Mahendergarh used to spend 9-10 hours reaching the National Capital and now, the same distance is covered in 3.5 hours. In the coming years, I want to set up an industrial model township in my constituency and complete medical college works in Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri and Mahendergarh districts.
