Patiala, Dec. 27 -- Two days after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) submitted a chargesheet in a Mohali court against five Punjab Police officers in connection with the alleged assault on Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath and his son in March this year, Col Bath's wife Jasvinder Kaur said on Friday that justice was still a distant dream. Speaking to the media, Jasvinder said, "Justice is not achieved merely by filing a chargesheet. This is only the beginning. I have been fighting for justice for nine months and I will continue to do so even if it takes nine years," she said. The chargesheet came nearly five months after the Punjab and Haryana high court in July transferred the investigation to the federal probe agency. "For once, I even thought of forgiving the accused inspectors after departmental action. However, they had no remorse for their behaviour. They thought they could do anything and get away," she said. She asserted that her fight was not driven by personal vendetta but by a desire to uphold the rule of law. htc...
