India, Aug. 2 -- More than four decades in the film industry, Jackie Shroff is still at it - working steadily and enjoying one of the busiest phases of his career. With films such as Housefull 5 and Tanvi The Great already outthis year, and a web series in the pipeline, the 68-year-old shows no signs of slowing down. Ask the actor the secret behind staying relevant for so long, and he says, "I don't know [if there's any secret]. I am doing the same thing I was doing back in the day. I used to do three films a year, I still do that. The only thing that's changed is that I used to sing songs on screen more earlier. Now, I do it only if some filmmaker gives me the opportunity. I like to act, and I like to be handledby my technicians. This is my job." Jackie credits his longevity to embracing unconventional roles over the years, which he feels has been his USP. "Right from the beginning, I have chosen roles that others didn't want to do. I should get a BAFTA for that," the actor quips, adding, "No one wanted to do Aaranya Kaandam (2010) or even Chunnibabu in Devdas (2002). People said, 'Title role to Devdas ka hai'. Par kya ho gaya usse? People were scared to do a role opposite Shah Rukh Khan (actor). But I know if I stand in a frame, I'll be seen." He also knows his place in the larger picture. "I know my limitations, but I'm open to learning. I prefer being like water. The director is the captain, I don't plot or plan. Use my presence, my sincerity, my discipline. There's no pretence with me. I'll put it like this: I don't die in a death sequence," the actor signs off....
