'Four-laning of Patiala-Sirhind road to be completed by March 31'
Chandigarh, May 23 -- Punjab public works department minister Harbhajan Singh ETO on Thursday that the work of four-laning of Patiala-Sirhind road is progressing at a fast pace and it is scheduled for completion by March 31, 2026. Singh said that so far, 25% of the total work has been accomplished, with Rs.32 crore already spent. The steel bridge near village Sidhuwal has been constructed and is now operational. Four-laning of this road will also eliminate 12 identified accident-prone zones, thereby substantially enhancing road safety and potentially preventing numerous fatalities, he added.
In lieu of 7,392 trees that were removed for the project, the forest department will plant of 60,106 saplings, he added. HTC...
