India, Jan. 22 -- Education is a lifelong investment and is the foundation of all social transformation and progress in various avenues of life. "The school strives to provide students with all of the information and skill they need to be really successful in their chosen careers," said Lohia International School director, Aarti Ranjan.
Lohia International School, situated in Manimajra, Chandigarh, is an English medium, co-educational school, owned and administrated by Lohia Karpuri Institute of Technology for Social Change. It had a humble beginning in 1997 under the able guidance of chairman Dhanik Lal Mandal (ex-governor of Haryana).
The school's motto "Dedication, Devotion , Discipline" is in coherence with the changing time where every skill needs to be taken a notch higher, where every achievement leads to greater expectations. For the overall development of students the school has organised various extracurricular activities like kite making, thumb and hand painting, calligraphy, tidy bag, talent hunt etc. The school encourages the gifted children in promoting their artistic skills which includes crafting, music, dance, dramatics, painting etc. Lohia International stands for holistic education which includes a fine blend of physical and intellectual pursuits. Games like volleyball, basketball, kho-kho, kabaddi, badminton, table tennis etc. are played by the students and helps in building character, team spirit and leadership skills.
The school director Aarti Ranjan says that they believe the development of a student's life is not only dependent on how one applies the knowledge in the real world but also determined by one's character and contribution to the society. "Hence all our efforts are focused on shaping young minds with sharp intellects and kind hearts. The school has highly trained faculty and they all aimed at delivering world-class education. The school gives special emphasis on extra-curricular activities and public speaking, and aims towards building a creative and comprehensive personality in students who are confident and capable of thriving in this competitive world," director Aarti added.
The teaching staff of Lohia International is fully qualified and experienced and trained in a range of professional skills like classroom control, student discipline, effective speech, body language and the best use of audio visual educational aids. The staff is not only efficient in teaching but also, effective in moulding the students in the set designed goals of the institution its motto 'Love in service'.
The school managed various clubs such as Eco club, Yoga and assembly club, sports club, electoral club, legal literacy club, disaster management, prehri and veda, for skills development, holistic growth, specialisation and community building, leadership opportunities.
The school also has a formal Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), comprised of parents, teachers and school administrators, with the primary goal of fostering collaboration to enhance the educational experience for students.
The school provides all necessary equipment and competent teachers to nurture the students with computing skills. They are made familiar with software packages used in modern business applications and programming skills are given appropriate focus. The school has a well equipped science lab where regular practicals are conducted from Class 5 onwards.
Lohia International firmly believes in respecting the culture. The school also provides training in Choi Kwang Do martial arts in the school premises. The students are taught basic self-defence techniques and a myriad range of other workout exercises. Morning assembly is the essential part of Lohia International school. It fosters the spirit of group activity, leadership and value building.
