Ludhiana, June 12 -- Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab unit president Aman Arora on Wednesday accepted his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) counterpart Sunil Jakhar's challenge for probe into assets of state chiefs of all political parties. On Tuesday, Jakhar had said that the assets of all state chiefs of political parties should be probed and offered that the authorities can start with him. Speaking at a press conference in Ludhiana, Arora urged Jakhar not to back down on his proposal."I fully accept the challenge. As the state president of a ruling party, I am ready to undergo a dope test and make my property records public. My details are already available and I am ready to take a drug test anywhere, anytime; even in front of the media and medical experts," Arora said. Accompanied by Punjab minister Lal Chand Kataruchak and senior party spokesperson Neel Garg, Arora praised the spirit behind the proposal, stating that AAP has always stood for clean, honest and transparent politics. "The vision Arvind Kejriwal started with is being echoed by leaders from other parties - and I welcome that," he said. "Since Jakhar has good relations with both the Shiromani Akali Dal and the Congress, I appeal to him to bring them on board too. Let them also undergo drug tests and disclose their assets. If we are serious about clean politics, it must be across the board," Arora said. He added that the idea should not be limited to Punjab. "Jakhar should take this to the BJP national leadership - Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president JP Nadda. I will speak with AAP national convener Kejriwal to ensure that this initiative reaches the national level. India needs leaders who lead by example," he said....
