'Chitta openly sold here' graffiti: HC seeks report
Chandigarh, Dec. 3 -- The Punjab and Haryana high court on Tuesday sought a detailed report on graffiti in Bathinda village pointing to "open sale of drugs" in the area.
The bench of chief justice Sheel Nagu and justice Sanjiv Berry has sought a response by December 22. The state has been told to give details about initiatives launched to curb the drug menace.
Reports claimed that messages were scribbled on walls of houses in Maur Kalan by frustrated villagers pointed towards "easy availability of drugs" in the village.
After the incident came to light, police rushed to the village and tried to erase the messages.
The report also claimed that residents were fed up with failure of the administration in curbing the drug menace in the village which saw suspected overdose death a few days ago....
