'CBI did nothing in a year': RG Kar victim's parents
Kolkata, Aug. 9 -- The parents of the 31-year-old postgraduate trainee doctor, who was raped and murdered at the state-run RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on August 9 last year, alleged on Friday that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) "did nothing in one year to expose and arrest the main conspirators".
As civilian groups hit Kolkata streets to mark one year of the incident, her parents, who met CBI director Praveen Sood in Delhi on Thursday, stuck to their allegation that Sanjay Roy, who was sentenced to imprisonment for the rest of his natural life in January, was not the sole perpetrator of the crime.
"CBI did nothing in one year to expose and arrest the main conspirators. The CBI director told me that the agency would leave the case. I said he should tell that to the court," the victim's father said after returning from Delhi. The victim's mother said she met Delhi chief minister Rakha Gupta on Thursday. "The Delhi CM wanted to give me an award. I refused saying I would accept it the day my daughter gets justice," she said. htc...
