India, July 29 -- Actor Surveen Chawla doesn't only take risks with her choices of roles - it also extends to her lipstick shades. "It's a part of my personality. I like change and try to stay away from monotony, including lipsticks. I don't like to be predictable, that's boring and lifeless," the 40-year-old tells us on Lipstick Day today. The actor, recently seen in web series Criminal Justice: A Family Matter and Rana Naidu season 2, is very particular about the pout. "A good shade gives me presence. Even on low days, a swipe of lipstick can lift my face and my spirit," she shares. Her routine, too, has evolved over the years from "structured to blurred". Her pro tip? "I like to smudge it over my lips for a blurred look." To keep herself feeling powerful and fearless, Surveen likes playing around with the colours. She explains, "I gravitate toward a deep rose - it's soft but strong. But the first time I wore a wine-black lip shade, it felt powerful." But this doesn't come without its goofs! "Once, during a windy outdoor shoot, my hair got stuck to my red gloss mid-dialogue. The scene was intense, but we couldn't stop laughing afterwards," she recalls with a laugh. While she may need to glam it up on-screen, off it, Surveen calls herself "a very no-makeup kind of gal". "I only do three things before stepping out: eyebrows, lips, and blush. I don't even use foundation usually. Makeup for me is just to feel good. It's about being creative, not corrective," the actor says. And aftercare is high on her priority list. "I use a lot of lip scrubs and lip balms during the day. At night, coconut oil or desi ghee for hydration. Even my lip balms are more hydrating than glossy," she signs off....
