{350th martyrdom anniv}Guv Kataria pays homage to Guru Teg Bahadur
Chandigarh, Nov. 25 -- To commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Teg Bahadur, the Punjab Raj Bhawan on Monday organised Shabad Kirtan at the Guru Nanak Dev Auditorium here. At the event, Punjab governor and UT administrator, Gulab Chand Kataria, paid tributes to the ninth Guru and participated in the ceremony.
Earlier, the governor paid glowing tributes to Guru Teg Bahadur, remembering his unparalleled sacrifice to protect religious freedom and human dignity.
Rajya Sabha member Vikramjit Singh Sahney launched a homage sung by him in a tribute to Guru Teg Bahadur. The composition, enriched with narration and emotive verses, traced the Guru's sacred journey, his sacrifice for freedom of practising one's own religion, from his stand against Aurangzeb's tyranny and forced conversions, resolve to protect the Kashmiri Pandits, and ultimately to his martyrdom at Chandni Chowk, according to a press note....
