India, June 8 -- On Tuesday, the Indian Premier League (IPL) came to a close with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) finally winning their maiden title after 18 years. Following the final match, actor and Punjab Kings (PBKS) co-owner Preity Zinta recently penned a note of encouragement for her team, appreciating the players for their performance this season. The 50-year-old shared a picture of the team on Instagram. "It didn't end the way we wanted it to but. I loved the grit our team, our shers showed throughout the tournament (sic)," she captioned it. Preity also gave PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer a shoutout, and noted that Indian players had dominated the tournament. Reflecting on the season, the actor added, "We smashed records even though we lost key players to injury & national duty, witnessed a pause in the tournament, transferred home games to other states & evacuated a stadium ! We adapted & topped the points table after a decade & fought till the end (sic)." Promising that the team would return stronger the next season, Preity concluded, "Most of all a heartfelt thank you to our fans that stood with us through thick n thin.
