India, Oct. 7 -- Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the sports technology landscape, and capitalising on this innovation, the sports and entertainment network Minute Media recently acquired VideoVerse, an AI-powered video solutions company for around Rs.2,500-Rs.3,000 crore. This is one of the largest sports tech mergers to have taken place globally, while being one of the top 5 tech mergers and acquisitions in India's startup ecosystem. This is also one of the biggest deals to happen in Pune. The deal enhances VideoVerse's global reach and strengthens its ability to deliver advanced solutions for broadcasters, sports leagues and media enterprises worldwide. VideoVerse was co-founded in 2016 by Pune-born Vinayak Shrivastav, who is a Loyola High School alumnus and engineering graduate. He began the company with the idea of using AI to solve critical challenges in video content creation, management and distribution. That vision has been scaled into a global enterprise and Vinayak serves clients such as FIFA+, Indian Premier League and Pro Panja League, among others, processing thousands of hours of video content each month. At the heart of its innovation is Magnifi, an AI platform that has revolutionised how sports, news, and entertainment are broadcast. It enables real-time detection of key sporting moments, auto-packages highlights and distributes them instantly across digital platforms. It also helps to keep the audiences engaged with high-quality content that is personalised for them. Vinayak, Co-founder and CEO, said, "We started with the idea that video should be smarter, faster and more meaningful for everyone. With Minute Media strategically acquiring the company, we are ready to take that vision to every corner of the world." Magnifi is also helping businesses in India and on the international level to streamline their workflow, maximise efficiency, and create content at scale, which makes VideoVerse a reliable partner for rights-holders and broadcasters. When they look towards the future, this sports tech company is preparing to expand its operations in India. They will be hiring around 250 to 300 professionals in AI and machine learning over the next 12 to 18 months. With new investments and innovation on the horizon, VideoVerse is poised to deepen its role in shaping how the world creates and consumes video. htc...
