Very silly to assume that I will abandon singing: Ariana
India, July 19 -- Amid rumours swirling over American singer-actor Ariana Grande quitting the music industry to focus on acting, she took to Instagram to clear the air on Wednesday.
The 32-year-old dropped a clip of her performing Into You (2016) at the 2024 Met Gala, writing alongside: "Very silly of you all to assume that just because i have my hands full with many things that I plan to abandon singing & music."
Ariana further said that music "is and always has been my lifeline", adding: "There will need to be room made for all of it. it may not look exactly like it did before but i much prefer how it looks in my head... finding a balance, between many projects and endeavors I love, and doing it my own way... so I'm working on a plan to sing for you all next year. even if it's just for a little. I love you."
The message comes just a day after she was confirmed to star in the animated film Oh, the Places You'll Go! by filmmaker Jon M Chu. The movie, which also stars Josh Gad, is set to release in 2028 and will include original songs by award-winning composers Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.
Jon and Ariana earlier collaborated on the musical fantasy film Wicked (2024). Ariana, who earned her first Oscar nomination for playing Glinda in the film, also hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with the deluxe edition of her album Eternal Sunshine in March last year, followed by a deluxe edition, Brighter Days Ahead, released this March. She will also star opposite Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro in the upcoming film Meet the Parents 4 .
While Ariana hasn't toured since 2019's Sweetener World Tour, fans now have reason to believe she'll return to the stage in some form next year.htc...
