India, Nov. 19 -- H imachal Pradesh's Raulane festival, honouring celestial fairies believed to protect villagers during harsh winters, may be unfamiliar to many, but its imagery has travelled far. Photos of elaborately veiled, jewel-laden figures - captured in March by adventure travel photographer Laksh Puri and his team - have recently gone viral after being reshared. Laksh is currently navigating the sudden wave of attention. Yet, he insists that virality was never the intent. "As artists, virality is not what we set out looking for. Our job is to portray the art, to tell the story," he says. Unfortunately, the images only went viral after being shared by an X user, without crediting the original photographers. Calling this a form of theft, Laksh states, "This is digital chori. Hamara kaam hi hamari rooh hai. Artists need to be recognised in a better way, so they know their work has value."...
