Sydney claps back at trolls: Not apologising for being a sex symbol
India, Oct. 30 -- Sydney Sweeney has set the record straight on the swirling rumours about her appearance. The actor, known for her work in Euphoria and The White Lotus, addressed social media speculation suggesting she's had cosmetic procedures, and she's not holding back.
In an interview with Variety, the 28-year-old dismissed the claims, saying, "I've never gotten anything done. I'm absolutely terrified of needles. No tattoos. Nothing." She added, "I'm going to age gracefully," putting an end to chatter comparing her current looks to photos from her teens.
For weeks, Reddit threads and social media users had speculated about possible Botox, fillers, and even a nose job, with one user claiming her upper lip looked "significantly bigger" and another insisting "the nose job is obvious." Despite the scrutiny, Sydney remains unfazed.
The actor noted that much of the public perception around her stems from the bold, complex women she portrays on screen. "Because I play a lot of very divisive characters, people think they know me," she said. "But they don't. So when people think, 'Ah, she's a sex symbol,' or 'She's leaning into that,' I'm like, 'No, I just feel good, and I'm doing it for myself and I feel strong'."
Sydney went on to say she hopes to inspire other women to embrace their confidence unapologetically. "You shouldn't have to hide or cover up in any room," she said. "Just flaunt what you've got and feel good."
She responded with a strong message: "I'm not going to apologise for being a sex symbol." Addressing the endless online comparisons, Sydney added, "I'll see things online like 'comparison pictures'. I'm like, 'I'm 12 in that photo. Of course, I'm going to look different. I have makeup on now, and I'm 15 years older'."
Reflecting on her journey in Hollywood, the actor also opened up about learning to assert her worth in the industry. "Being an actress, it's a lot harder to stand in the room and demand your worth," she said. "I have to remind myself, 'Hey, Syd, you're actually powerful. Stand up a little taller'."htc...
