Ssunita backs Jaya Bachchan amid backlash over remarks on paparazzi culture
India, Dec. 20 -- Govinda's wife, content creator Ssunita Ahuja, voiced her support for veteran actor Jaya Bachchan recently, following the backlash over the latter's criticism of paparazzi culture at an event in Mumbai last month.
In her latest vlog, Ssunita suggested that Jaya's reaction was likely driven by irritation over constant media attention. Defending Jaya, she said, "Everyone has their own thoughts. Jaya ma'am must be getting irritated. She is very big, I can't say anything about her. If she doesn't like it, then the paparazzi shouldn't do it. I love Jaya ji a lot and I will always love her."
Jaya's criticism of paparazzi culture came during a discussion at the We The Women event in Mumbai last month. When asked about her relationship with the paparazzi, she said, "It is strange. I am a product of the media, but my relationship with the paparazzi is zero. Are they trained to represent the people of this country? You call them media? I come from media! My father (Taroon Kumar Bhaduri) was a journalist. I have tremendous respect for them."
She added, "Magar ye jo baahar gande-gande kapde pehen ke, haath me mobile leke, they think that just because they have a mobile, they can take your picture and say what they want? And the kind of comments they pass? What kind of people are these? Kahan se aatey hain? Kis tarah ki education hain, kya background hai? Will they represent us?"
