Skype to shutdown after 14 years
India, March 2 -- Microsoft has announced that it will shut down Skype on May 5, after 14 years of it being in use. The once widely used internet telephone and chat platform will be replaced by a free version of Microsoft Teams. Existing Skype users will be able to log in to Microsoft Teams using their current credentials. Their message history, group chats, and contacts will be available in Teams without the need to create a new account.
