India, July 27 -- A ctor Shweta Tiwari says that while she never saw herself as a strict parent, she maintained a set of ground rules while raising her daughter, actor Palak Tiwari. "I wasn't strict, but there were some rules in our house. If you've said you'll be back by 1am, that means be at the door by 1 am. It doesn't mean you leave the party at 1 am," she said on Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa's podcast. While she avoided being overbearing, she made it clear that communication was non-negotiable. "I'd tell her, 'I won't call their mothers, but if your phone is off, I'll call the people you're with. And if I can't reach them, then I will start calling their mothers, because they usually have the driver's number.' Palak knew if I said I would do it, I meant it." Financial independence was another key lesson. "She was given a budget. For instance, if it was Rs.25,000 and she exceeded it, she knew she'd have to make up for it by doing household chores," Shweta recalled, adding, "We had a whole rate card - Rs.1,000 for cleaning the bathroom, Rs.500 for making the bed, Rs.1,000 for doing the dishes. So she'd plan accordingly and even do extra chores in advance if she knew she'd go over budget."htc...
