India, March 26 -- Waking up to the reality that other Indian states are offering attractive policies and ease of business to the film industry, the Maharashtra government announced free shooting for advertisements, films and TV shows at all government and semi-government locations, last week. Going forward, production houses will only have a one-time deposit payment of Rs.40,000 for advertisements, Rs.1,00,000 for serials and Rs.2,50,000 for films. The initiative was taken by the Minister of State for Culture Affairs Sudhir Mungantiwar, who hopes to make Maharashtra a global film production hub.
