India, Aug. 7 -- After TV and films, actor Shilpa Shirodkar Ranjit is now venturing into the world of OTT. Shilpa believes it's all about the story: "OTT offers a lot of opportunities for actors. With so many stories, concepts, and characters, it has paved the path for actors across ages and languages to explore more." The 51-year-old, who's debuting with Shankar - The Revolutionary Man, shares, "The industry has evolved, and there are so many well-written roles now for actors my age. I don't chase lead roles. The hero-heroine concept is outdated today. It's all about strong characters, and that's where my focus lies." In addition to her OTT debut, Shilpa is returning to Telugu cinema after a long gap since her 1992 film Brahma. When asked about her decision to take on a regional project, she shares, "It's a powerful role. Today, films are made for a pan-India audience. That universal appeal is something every actor strives for, and I'm no different. It's all about compelling characters, great storytelling, and mass appeal. If regional cinema offers that, why not be a part of it? The barriers between industries are fading. A good story reaches audiences, no matter the language or region." Shilpa is also thrilled that the film will have a theatrical release: "There's something magical about seeing a film on the big screen. Even though I consume a lot of content on OTT, one can't deny the thrill of a theatrical release. The appeal is still the same as when I started. We work so hard on a project, and then to see it come alive on the big screen - that's something else."...
