Samay Raina announces comeback with Still Alive
India, April 7 -- C
omedian Samay Raina has announced his comeback with a new comedy special, Still Alive, after controversy surrounding his show India's Got Latent, last year.
Raina took to Instagram on Sunday to share a video tracing the journey of the show, from its launch on June 14, 2024, to the backlash it faced on February 10, 2025.
The controversy erupted after remarks made by podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia on the show drew widespread criticism, leading to multiple FIRs being filed against members of the panel.
Following the backlash, Raina removed all episodes of India's Got Latent from YouTube. The video he shared also referenced the legal challenges and threats faced by him and fellow creators, including Apoorva Mukhija and Ashish Chanchlani.
The clip concluded with Raina announcing his new special, Still Alive, captioned, "Let's talk now.", signalling his return to the stage after months of silence.
The announcement was met with strong reactions online. Chanchlani commented, "Epic. Love you," while fans flooded the post with messages calling it a "comeback" and expressing anticipation for the show.
The controversy earlier last year had sparked a wider debate around content boundaries on digital platforms, with critics accusing the show of promoting obscenity, while supporters argued for creative freedom.
With Still Alive, Raina appears to be addressing both the backlash and his absence, marking a significant return.
