Prosecutors seek 11-year sentencefor 'diddy'
India, Oct. 2 -- Ahead of Sean 'Diddy' Combs's sentencing Friday, several key witnesses, including his ex-girlfriend Casandra 'Cassie' Ventura, have submitted letters warning that freeing him would pose a threat to their safety. Prosecutors included these statements as they pushed Judge Arun Subramanian to impose a minimum sentence of 11 years and 3 months for Combs's conviction on two prostitution-related counts.
Ventura described enduring abuse over more than a decade, adding she still fears retaliation. Other letters came from her parents and four additional witnesses. One former girlfriend who testified under the pseudonym 'Jane' did not submit a letter. She claimed that Combs coerced her into days-long, drug-fuelled sexual encounters with male escorts, which he allegedly watched and filmed. Other witnesses also urged a tough sentence. A former assistant, Mia, asked the court to weigh the "ongoing danger" Combs poses. A former employee, Capricorn Clark, testified that Combs once confronted her threateningly and broke into rapper Kid Cudi's home; she said spending time behind bars is the only way to curb his power. Stylist Deonte Nash called for a sentence that allows the victims to heal and encourages "genuine change."
Combs was convicted in July 2025 on two counts involving interstate transportation for prostitution, but acquitted on more serious charges like racketeering and sex trafficking. His legal team has sought a sentence as low as 14 months, citing rehabilitation and the time already spent in detention.
