Preity opens up on B'wood stars' silence on Pahalgam attack, Operation Sindoor
India, May 16 -- Military tensions between India and Pakistan de-escalated last weekend after the two countries agreed to a ceasefire.
While social media was abuzz as users reacted to the attack in Pahalgam on April 22 and spoke out in favour of Operation Sindoor, many noticed that certain Bollywood stars were silent about the situation, while trolls claimed that they were trying to retain their fan following in other countries. Now, actor Preity G Zinta's has reacted to her contemporaries' lack of response.
During an ask me anything session on X, Preity was asked about her opinion about the celebs who had neither condemned the attack nor lauded Operation Sindoor. "I cannot speak for everyone else as people process things differently," the 50-year-old wrote, before continuing, "Being a fauji kid, these things hit close to my heart, so I am very vocal about how I feel... have seen the grit, the sweat, the blood, the tears up close (sic)."
Speaking about the resilience of army families, Preity also stated: "Sometimes I feel the families are a little stronger than faujis themselves! Have you seen mothers who give their sons up for our country, wives who will never see their husbands smile and kids who will never have their fathers or mothers guide them through life!
