Preity donates Rs.1 crore to Army widows and their children
India, May 26 -- Preity G Zinta, actor and co-owner of the Punjab Kings IPL franchise, has showcased her philanthropic side by pledging Rs.1.10 crore to Army widows and their children.
This gesture comes after India's successful Operation Sindoor in Pakistan, following the April 22 Pahalgam attack. According to an official statement, Preity donated Rs.1.10 crore to the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) of the South Western Command, as part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative by her IPL team.
During the donation ceremony held in Jaipur, Preity expressed her admiration for the Indian Armed Forces and emphasised the importance of supporting the families of brave soldiers. "It is both an honour and a responsibility to provide assistance to the brave families of our Armed Forces. The sacrifices made by our soldiers can never truly be repaid. However, we can stand by their families and support them in moving forward," she said.
Preity was joined by senior Army officials, including the Army Commander South Western Command and Regional President Shapta Shakti. She also shared her connection to Army life, having grown up as a "fauji kid" and witnessing the sacrifices made by Army families.
