Prada team visits Kolhapuri craftsmen ahead of 'Made in India' partnership

eeks after Prada sparked buzz for showcasing Kolhapuri chappal-inspired footwear in its Spring/Summer 2026 menswear collection in Milan, a four-member team from the Italian luxury fashion house visited Kolhapur on Tuesday to delve deeper into the craft's heritage and technique. The delegation included Paolo Tiveron (director, men's technical and production department - Footwear Division), Daniele Contu (pattern making manager) and external consultants Andrea and Roberto Pollastrelli.
The team visited the homes of renowned craftsmen including Balasaheb Gawali, Shubham Satpute, Sunil Rokade and Shivaji Mane, where they observed a variety of handcrafted footwear.
