India, May 2 -- As the debate around celebrities using medications for weight loss rages on, filmmaker Hansal Mehta opened up about his own weight loss with a post on X on Thursday. "Using medical guidance, I began Mounjaro to address rising blood sugar levels in the pre-diabetic range and to manage my steadily increasing weight," he wrote in a lengthy post, adding that he lost 10kg in a span of a few months. The 57-year-old also spoke up against the stigma of using drugs like Mounjaro and Ozempic to aid weight loss. "There's no shame in taking charge of your health with the tools available to you - especially when done responsibly and under supervision," he wrote. Hansal also credited "lifestyle changes" for the transformation, adding that he noticed an improvement in energy levels and a decrease in blood sugar levels since he began the medication. "I'm sharing this because there's unnecessary stigma around these new medications and people who do use them falsely connect their new found health to ambiguous and often frustrating fitness regimens," he said, ending his post on a cautionary note, "If you're struggling with similar issues, speak to your health care provider". htc...
