India, April 5 -- S inger-music producer Yo Yo Honey Singh has been barred by Pune city police from performing songs referencing alcohol, drugs or weapons at his upcoming concert in Pune on April 18. As per reports, the decision follows a letter from district child protection officer Mangesh Jadhav, who raised concerns that some of the artiste's songs glorify substance use and gun culture, which could negatively influence children. He also urged authorities to ensure that no vulgar language is used during the show. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 7) Somay Munde confirmed that the organisers have been informed about the restrictions and have agreed to comply. According to Jadhav, the matter reached him after a complaint was filed by Punditrao Dharenavar, a sociology professor based in Chandigarh who has previously raised objections to performances he believes promote alcohol, drugs or weapons. The concert will take place at Mahalaxmi Lawns on Pune-Ahilyanagar Road. It was originally scheduled for April 4 but was postponed due to heavy rainfall in the city in the days leading up to the event. HTC...
