Mum wants me to make mistakes and learn from them: Rasha
India, Oct. 22 -- Rasha Thadani entered showbiz this year with Azaad, and is currently working on her second film, Laikey Laikaa. Daughter of actor Raveena Tandon, the 20-year-old is no stranger to the movies. Still, Rasha admits that experiencing it all firsthand as an actor has helped the mother-daughter duo explore a different facet of their relationship. "There is more professional relatability between us now. Mum is seeing me go through everything that she went through. She feels really happy that I look to her for guidance," Rasha says.
She adds that her mother wants her to learn things on her own: "Mum knows everything, but she lets me be and do what I think. She wants me to make mistakes and learn from them. She'll never tell me what to do - she always suggests what she feels, and at the end of the day, she tells me, 'You do you'. I love her approach. I'm sure I've made some mistakes already, and I'm sure I'll make a lot more as well. But it's all a learning process."
Despite her lineage, Rasha is clear that she wants to forge an identity of her own, and she believes doing so helps her connect more authentically with her audience. "Nobody wants to see the same person again and again. It's very easy to get swayed and start becoming like someone else or picking up things from other people, but I put an effort into just being me and working on myself. As a performer and actor, it's important to have your own style and your own way of doing things. It's just about being you," she says.
Rasha feels that individuality is key to making a mark in the industry. "Nobody is the same. (Actors) Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone are great performers, but they are two different personalities, and that's the beauty of it. I feel that as an actor, you get to be the best version of yourself," she ends....
