India, May 24 -- Miley Cyrus has been leading a sober lifestyle for years now. She quit drinking in 2020 and smoking marijuana in 2017, and the singer admits that opting for sobriety has "changed my life". "I've learned this about myself over the years," Miley told Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, adding, "The sobriety is like, that's like my God. I need it, I live for it. I mean that it's changed my entire life." While she had left drinking already before, the singer had a relapse in 2020 during the Covid-19 lockdown. However, she insists it was much needed for her to finally get the drive to leave the habit for good. "I know I needed to fall one more time. It just never would have happened this way," she said, admitting that having these moments where she didn't feel "my best" led her to writing her song Flowers, which was "some sort of key right into the lock of all healing. It healed me so much".
