Make healthy modaks for Bappa
India, Aug. 26 -- Dates and Makhana Modak
Ingredients:
Dates 1 Cup (100 gm) (without seed)
Almond 2 Tbsp
Cashews 2 Tbsp
Pistachios 2 Tbsp
Fox nuts (50 gm)
Ghee 1 Tsp
Method:
Dry roast the nuts (almonds, pistachios, and cashews) for 3-4 minutes Dry roast poppy seeds for a minute on low flame and keep it aside. In pan heat ghee and add chopped dates, and saute and cook on a medium flame for 3-4 minutes or until dates become soft. Once done let the dates cool down before mixing with nuts. Mix both the dates and nuts and form a dough. Grease the Modak Mold with the ghee and fill it with the dates-nuts mixture stuffed with rosted fox nuts (Makhana), Remove from the mold.
