Maharashtra's Tamhini Ghats beats Cherrapunji, records highest rainfall in June
India, July 3 -- As a result of the rains battering the state, a recent report by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) states that the Tamhini Ghats have received 210 mm of rain in the past 24 hours alone. The rainfall recorded has exceeded that of Meghalaya's Cherrapunji, which has not yet crossed the 1,000 mm mark this season.
However, this hasn't stopped people from nearby cities from making the most of monsoon, as Tamhini Ghats have seen a rise in tourists. Places like Lonavala, Mahabaleshwar, Mulshi, Sinhagad Fort and Khadakwasla cluster dams have also witnessed an increase in tourists. HTC...
