Mahadev's presence guides my life: Raveena Tandon
India, Feb. 15 -- R
aveena Tandon calls herself a devoted Shiv bhakt, saying spirituality has run in her family for generations. On Mahashivratri today, the actor reflects on her deep faith in Lord Shiva: "He is the all-loving, all-forgiving, universal entity for me"
She adds that even her children's (Rasha and Ranbir Thadani) names carry a Shiva connection: "Rasha's actual name is Vishakha in her kundli, and Ranbir's name has Vardhan in it. Mahadev has always made me feel his presence in every phase of life. His presence guides my life."
Raveena also shares that her love for animals stems from this belief. "He is known as Pashupatinath, which makes me value him even more. His form, with Nandiji by his side and the Kaalbhairav avatar surrounded by dogs, reflects that compassion."
For Raveena, Mahashivratri at home usually includes a Rudra Abhishek. "Otherwise, I head to Kashi," she says, adding, "The last two years, Rasha and I were there. This time, I will be at Sadhguruji's ashram."
She has also completed the 12 jyotirlinga pilgrimage: "I began at Kashi Vishwanath in February 2023 on my father's (Ravi Tandon, filmmaker) birthday. I had lost him in 2022 and carried some of his ashes to the Ganga. Within a year, by Mahashivratri 2024, Rasha and I had completed all 12 jyotirlingas. That was something I owed to my dad."...
