India, Nov. 12 -- After a long musical career and her on-screen acting debut last year with Call Me Bae, Lisa Mishra recently returned to her first love, theatre, performing at the Prithvi Theatre Festival after a 15-year hiatus. Part of a musical directed by Akarsh Khurana, the artiste admits that stepping back on stage was both exciting and daunting. "It was a bit overwhelming because it's a lot of work. I had forgotten how much goes into producing a long-format show live. While I was excited to go back, I was also a little terrified. It was like an ultimate challenge as both my acting and music careers met in the middle," she says. While she was away from acting on stage for over a decade, the 31-year-old says her musical background helped her prepare. "On screen, we get multiple takes, but in theatre, there's no second chance. However, I already know how to handle that because, as a musician, we play live shows all the time. So my music career has really prepared me for the stage," she says. Lisa also acknowledges the added pressure now: "Doing this after I've established myself as a screen actor adds a bit more pressure to perform well." Reflecting on her journey, Lisa calls her career in showbiz a "playbook for anybody who believes in hard work." She says, "People assume that after your big break, it's smooth sailing. But in a city as competitive as Mumbai, you have to reinvent yourself every day. Work isn't handed to you, you have to seek it out and advocate for yourself." Up next, Lisa is set to start shooting for Call Me Bae season 2, and she's thrilled. "We start filming shortly. Season two is going to be incredible. The writing is strong, and the characters have evolved beautifully. We have high expectations to live up to," she shares. As for The Royals season 2, she updates, "We're yet to hear about our characters' arcs or shooting schedules. But pre-production is underway."...
