India, Sept. 25 -- Jimmy Kimmel returned to late-night TV on Tuesday, addressing for the first time the controversy surrounding his comments about the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, which led to the brief suspension of his show Jimmy Kimmel Live! In his comeback monologue, the 57-year-old acknowledged the controversy with a mix of candour and humour. "It's been a weird week," he said, adding, "I have no illusions about changing anyone's mind, but I do want to make something clear, because it's important to me as a human, and that is: You understand that it was never my intention to make light of the murder of a young man." Celebrities were quick to show their support online. Actor Ben Stiller was among the first to praise Kimmel, writing on X, "What a brilliant monologue from Jimmy Kimmel." Encouraging messages also flooded the comments section of Jimmy Kimmel Live!'s first Instagram post since the hiatus. Actor Walton Goggins wrote, "Go get em Jimmy," while actors Melanie Griffith, Jamie Foxx, and others also voiced their support. Fellow late-night host Stephen Colbert, posting from The Late Show's official account, added, "Welcome back, brother." HTC...
